Let's not fool ourselves. This blog is dead. It never really got off the ground, never found its niche. It's time to put it out of its misery. My subscription to Typepad ends on November 21, and I'm not renewing.
I'm fooling with the idea of a new blog -- a free one this time, so as to take the pressure off if I wind up not doing much with it -- that will focus on this crazy little part of the world. I intend to launch it before this blog kicks the bucket, and I'll post the new URL here.
In the meantime, I finally gave in a few months ago and joined Facebook. I suspect that most of the people who read this have already friended me, but if you haven't yet and you'd like to follow me there, you can look me up as summeronthebeach. Just tell me that you know me through my blog when you send a friend request.
