You've voted, and most of you want to know what I'm watching. Right now: this. Project Catwalk, the UK version of Project Runway. If you like Project Runway, you'll like Project Catwalk. It's a bit different than the original, not least in that Liz Hurley's breasts stand in for Heidi Klum's legs. That's okay, I guess.
I owe all this fabulous entertainment to Jen, who mentioned on her blog Mimiboo Too that she'd found Canadian and Australian versions of Project Runway on YouTube. I needed no further encouragement. I love Project Runway. I am not allowed to walk. I have a laptop and WiFi. SCORE. Jen urged me to start with Project Runway Canada, as she was already watching it and loving it. She did not steer me wrong.
The lovely thing about watching it on YouTube (other than the fact that the whole season is there, and I can watch hour after hour if I so desire) is that after I watched the whole season, its search engine helpfully offered up "related videos" without me even asking, so I was able to look at the most recent runway shows from the top two designers. Guess what? The winner's most recent show, in a word, sucked, and ended with the most pathetic gimmick I've ever seen on a runway. The runner-up, on the other hand, sent a lovely if ever so slightly derivative collection down the catwalk, and Jen and I both agreed that Iman, supermodel host of Project Runway Canada, blew it when she cast the deciding vote in the finale. Ah, well. She is still fierceness personified.
Speaking of eyes, I took a nap this afternoon (I am still finding crutches very tiring to use, and going out for sushi was enough to wipe me out) and woke up with a huge hive on my eyelid. Huge like quarter-sized. So very sexy. One benadryl has not been enough to depuff it, and I'm due at a dinner party in half an hour. Do you think anyone would mind if I kept on my giant black Rachel Zoe-esque sunglasses at the dinner table? Maybe they'd just think I'm on drugs. I mean, drugs more glamorous than benadryl.
Next on the agenda: bikini talk.
